SASEAF Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme: The SG Academies South-East Asia Fellowship (SASEAF) Programme is now accepting applications for its 2023 round. This fellowship aims to foster collaborations between distinguished research institutions in Singapore and promising postdoctoral researchers from South-East Asia. The fellowship offers a 2-year opportunity to engage in impactful research contributing to advancements in various fields. While specific research topics are preferred, applicants can propose research in any field conducted in Singapore’s research institutions.

Research Area: Multiple research areas, including Infectious Diseases, Population Health/Public Health, Green & Blue Economy, Climate Change, and Sustainability.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Applicants should consult with potential PIs or host institutions in Singapore to discuss concurrent employment possibilities with their home institutions.
- Applicants should have a Ph.D. or relevant academic qualifications.
- Successful applicants may have the opportunity to participate in a 6-month short SASEAF programme specifically for infectious diseases.
Job Description:
- Conduct impactful research and contribute to the chosen field.
- Collaborate with professors and PIs at Singaporean research institutions.
- Applicants focusing on infectious diseases can propose dry-lab projects with a 6-month duration to maintain strong links with their home institutions.
- Facilitate international institutional and researcher networks for collective preparedness and responsiveness to future pandemics.

- Collaborate with a professor/PI to develop a short research proposal.
- Obtain in-principle approval from your host professor(s)/PI(s).
- Complete the Application Form.
- Combine all required documents into a single PDF file and upload it.
- Direct your referees to submit reference letters.
- Required documents: Application Form, Research Proposal (up to 2 pages), in-principle approval, certified copies of diplomas and transcripts, two recommendation letters from referees.

- Evaluation based on academic records, essays, letters of recommendation, application documents, and other relevant materials.
- Consideration of the quality of the research proposal, its innovation, achievability during the fellowship, choice of host institution, and potential for career enhancement.
- Assessment of the applicant’s training, aptitude, and experience, including their ability to add value after returning home.
- Evaluation of personal qualities, including the commitment to fostering collaboration between South-East Asian countries and contributing to scientific advancements.
Review Panel:
- The review panel comprises nominees from relevant academies.
- The chair of the review panel is appointed by the SNAS President.
