Eligibility / Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Previous experience in ecological restoration or conservation project management.
  • Knowledge of California flora and basic taxonomic principles preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with GIS and/or mapping software (Field Maps, Survey123).
  • Experience in managing grants and agreements is preferred.
  • Must be capable of conducting fieldwork under varying environmental conditions with physical strength to carry equipment and hike.

Job Description

The Restoration and Plant Stewardship Coordinator will:

  • Oversee and coordinate a four-year restoration implementation project in the Amargosa River watershed.
  • Assist in the creation of a cultural seed banking program alongside Indigenous partners.
  • Execute hydrological monitoring of critical wetland habitats.
  • Act as a community liaison to engage with local stakeholders regarding restoration activities.
  • Develop educational materials including social media posts, newsletters, and interpretive displays.
  • Manage relevant equipment and oversee associated data entry and mapping for field projects.
  • Collaborate with the California Botanic Garden on various botanical initiatives.
  • Prepare necessary reports and documentation for government agencies and project partners.
