Scholarship Description: This project aims to investigate the impact of mitochondrial dynamics on neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically focusing on Rett syndrome and MECP2 duplication syndrome. Leveraging a xenotransplantation model and innovative approaches to study mitochondrial phenotypes in human neurons, this research promises novel insights into the mechanisms underlying NDDs. The outcomes may pave the way for innovative therapeutic interventions.
Eligibility: The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Bioengineering (Cell- and Genebiotechnology), Neuroscience, or related fields. While previous research experience, especially in cell culture, is advantageous, it’s not essential. Proficiency in written and spoken English is crucial, and candidates should possess good writing skills and be comfortable with public speaking.
