SCIENCES PO POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP: Sciences Po is inviting applications for a 22-month postdoctoral fellowship on “Democracy and Ecological Transformations” within the Politics of the Anthropocene (OHPA) project, in collaboration with Central European University (CEU) and CEBRAP. This fellowship offers an opportunity to conduct interdisciplinary research exploring the relationship between democracy and ecology, addressing tensions and synergies to drive sustainability transformations.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Must hold a Ph.D. in history, political science, sociology, law, economics, or related social sciences fields, obtained within 5 years from the completion.
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills in English.
  • Proven record of interdisciplinary work and network-building experience.
  • Ability to multitask in a diverse and challenging environment.
  • Regular presence at Sciences Po campus in Paris is expected.
  • Strong communication skills and cooperative work ability.
  • International applications, particularly from female researchers, are encouraged.

Job Description: The postdoctoral fellow will collaborate with CEU and Sciences Po interdisciplinary environmental research community to collect evidence, develop new assumptions, and reconcile contradictions between democracy and ecology. Responsibilities include conducting research, organizing workshops, co-editing a collected volume, and collaborating with CEU. The fellow will be hosted in one of Sciences Po research units and benefit from support and supervision by a Sciences Po permanent faculty member.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on July 2, 2024. The selection committee will be chaired by Joost de Moor (Sciences Po) and composed of Manisha Anantharaman (Sciences Po), Alexander Edkind (CEU), and Eloi Laurent (Sciences Po).
