Research Areas

Eligibility/Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Education: Completed Ph.D./Doctorate in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or related fields with a strong emphasis on data science, business analytics, or digital humanities
- Research Experience: Strong publication record in top-tier international journals/outlets
- Skills:
- Excellent command of English (C1 proficiency level)
- Experience in leading projects, coordinating teams, and supervising master’s or Ph.D. students
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Motivation to secure external research funding and publishing in leading journals
- Experience with interdisciplinary research and teaching
Job Description
The Scientific Coordinator will play a leading role in building bridges between the Data Science Research Network @ Uni Vienna and real-world stakeholders, including NGOs, government agencies, and industries. Key responsibilities include:
- Fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration and partnerships
- Contributing to the development of new Master’s programs (e.g., Business Analytics, Data Science, Digital Humanities)
- Conducting data science research and publishing findings in top-tier journals
- Supervising students and participating in teaching
- Organizing workshops, conferences, and public events for knowledge exchange
- Securing external funding for new research projects
- Contributing to the operational administration and strategy of the Data Science @ Uni Vienna Research Network
This position also provides a unique opportunity for preparing and finalizing a habilitation.
