Eligibility/Qualification

  • Completed higher education degree relevant to the position.
  • Strong interest in biochemical, pharmacological, and medicinal chemistry issues and interdisciplinary research.
  • Willingness to work primarily within biochemical and pharmacological research.
  • Readiness for limited-term research stays at other locations within research collaborations.
  • Good IT skills and interest in mastering necessary software.
  • Proficient in German and English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in experimental work in S1 and/or S2 laboratories, or knowledge in medicinal chemistry and drug development is advantageous.
  • Alternatively, a strong motivation to acquire these skills is welcomed.

Job Description

  • Conduct scientific services primarily in research and teaching.
  • Opportunity for scientific advancement, particularly for preparing a dissertation (approx. one-third of working hours).
  • Engage in the biochemical and pharmacological research of drug-like molecules influencing PPI.
  • Develop and validate in vitro test systems (e.g., FRET assays) to study the inhibition of PPIs by novel ligands.
  • Independently handle the execution and documentation of research activities.
  • Write scientific texts and publications.
  • Participate in self-administration and supervise students.
  • Conduct seminars and oversee examination grading as part of the teaching responsibilities (2.6 LVS).
