Scientist – Advanced Therapeutics: The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is seeking a motivated Scientist for a 36-month employment contract under the Exploratory Research Project “Targeted Delivery of Innovative RNA Therapeutics (TARGET-RNA).” The position involves design, synthesis, and characterization of targeted lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-RNA systems to deliver innovative RNA cargos. The research contributes to the development of RNA therapeutics, playing a crucial role in medicine, including the treatment of rare diseases and tumors.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Doctoral diploma in chemistry, nanotechnology, pharmaceutical technology, biochemistry, or related fields. Alternatively, completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma and at least five years of professional experience in a relevant field.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in experimental research on synthesis and/or characterization of biological macromolecules, drug delivery systems, nanomedicines, and biotechnology.
- Broad knowledge in recombinant proteins or antibodies synthesis and characterization.
- Experience working with eukaryotic cell culture systems.
- Solid record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English (B2).
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Design, synthesis, and characterization of TARGET-LNP-RNA systems.
- Design, synthesis, and characterization of LNP-RNA systems with innovative RNA cargos or gene editing tools.
- Developing techniques and methods for their advanced structural and functional characterization.
- Linking with international collaborators; dissemination and publication of results.
