Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in life sciences
  • Strong training in one or more of the following fields:
    • Cellular reprogramming and stem cell biology
    • Molecular and cell biology (experience in extracellular communication, non-canonical ORFs, translational control, and stress responses is a plus)
    • Preclinical models
    • Functional CRISPR-Cas9 screenings
    • Computational biology

Job Description:

  • Engage in groundbreaking and innovative scientific research at Altos Labs.
  • Study the mechanistic basis of stress responses to promote cell health and rejuvenation.
  • Develop project-specific experimental strategies, techniques, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and contribute to internal and external collaborations with academic groups.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising lab members, including scientists and technicians.
  • Contribute to writing and dissemination of research results.

About the Abad Lab: The Abad Lab focuses on studying the interplay between stress responses and cellular plasticity for tissue repair. The lab explores cellular reprogramming in vivo and the role of cellular senescence in tissue damage and reprogramming. Additionally, they investigate small open reading frames (sORFs) and their impact on cellular plasticity. At Altos Cambridge, the lab aims to create a collaborative program to understand how the proteome adapts to stress and identify determinants of cellular reprogramming and tissue rejuvenation.

Salary Ranges:

  • Scientist I: £42,000 to £69,000
  • Scientist II: £50,000 to £90,000
  • Senior Scientist: £60,000 to £115,200
