Job Description
The Scientist IV will be responsible for:
- Daily operations of the small molecule X-ray facility.
- Coordinating instrument time and allocation.
- Maintenance of instrumentation and service contract management.
- Developing and implementing policies for effective and safe laboratory operations.
- Strategic planning for laboratory enhancements.
- Preparing reports, budget requests, and grant proposals for facility upgrades.
- Maintaining a web-based structural results database.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift objects less than 50 pounds, sitting for long periods, and walking across campus.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Experience with the operation and maintenance of X-ray generators, optics, goniometers, detectors, optical microscopes, and cryogenic equipment.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software relevant to the field.
