About- National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) is an autonomous institute under Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, and Government of India. NIAB is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenic technology, reproductive technology, diseases, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics. The Institute aims at translational research leading to genetic enhancement of Indian Livestock species and basic research towards development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualification: 1st Class Post Graduate/Master’s Degree/M.Tech in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Etc.) including the Integrated PG degree from a recognized university OR 2nd Class Post Graduate/Master’s Degree/M.Tech in Life Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Etc.) including the Integrated PG degree from a recognized university with Ph. D degree.
Experience: A candidate with experience in molecular biology, immunology techniques, animal (mice, hamsters) handling is desirable. Candidates with prior experience with working on macrophages biology and/or Leptospira infection model will be preferred.
Age: 35 years
Job/Position Description-
Fellowship amount: Rs.56000 + 30 % HRA (If applicable)

Project Research Scientist-1 (Non-Medical) – 1 position
Tenure: One year, likely to extended based on performance and co-terminus with the duration of the project (June, 2028)
