About- National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) is an autonomous institute under Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, and Government of India. NIAB is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenic technology, reproductive technology, diseases, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics. The Institute aims at translational research leading to genetic enhancement of Indian Livestock species and basic research towards development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals.

Eligibility/Qualification–
PhD degree in Life sciences /Allied sciences from a recognised university. Experience: Candidates with hands-on experience in culture characterisation and cryopreservation of stem cells will be given preference.
Upper Age limit: 35 years

Project Title: “Animal Stem Cell Biobank DBT-NIAB: ASCB: The Nation’s First Animal Stem Cell Repository.
Project Research Scientist –I (02 Positions)
Fellowship amount: Rs. 56000/- per month + 30 % HRA (If applicable).
