Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate: The Department of Paediatrics, Berrens Group, Institute of Developmental & Regenerative Medicine IDRM at Old Road Campus, Oxford, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate. This exciting opportunity involves contributing to the understanding of the role of Transposable elements in cell fate decisions. The role includes developing and running a project to create novel tools for investigating locus-specific transposable element expression using mouse embryonic stem cells with advanced CRISPR-based targeting technologies.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • DPhil Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Genetics
  • Post-qualification experience in molecular and cellular biology, with a focus on gene regulation and epigenetics
  • Research skills with the ability to manage independent projects
  • Supervision skills to support the Berrens lab and DPhil students
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a demanding research environment

Job Description: The Senior Postdoctoral Research Associate will:

  • Contribute to understanding the role of Transposable elements in cell fate decisions

  • Work in a growing department with internationally renowned research programs
  • Collaborate with the Berrens group in research on Transposable elements
  • Support DPhil students in the Berrens lab
