Location

Eligibility / Qualification
Required Qualifications
- Education: PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, Signal Processing, Robotics, Autonomous Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of postdoctoral or equivalent research experience.
- Track Record: Demonstrated experience in funding acquisition, project coordination, and external partner collaborations.
- Language Proficiency: Excellent written and oral English communication skills (C1 level required or willingness to obtain it promptly).
- Work Authorization: Must meet conditions for obtaining a valid permit and comply with VUB residence requirements (for both EEA and non-EEA nationals).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Strong experience in scientific project writing and grant proposal preparation.
- Fluency in Dutch and/or good working knowledge of French.
- Proven ability to balance scientific maturity with strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Experience in mentoring or co-supervising junior researchers.
Job Description
1. Project Management
- Coordinate ongoing research projects, oversee timelines, manage milestones/deliverables, and monitor research quality.
- Assist with project administrative and financial follow-ups, including budget monitoring, procurement support, and grant reporting.
2. Proposal Development & Funding Acquisition
- Identify competitive funding calls across regional, national, European, and innovation-oriented schemes.
- Lead and support the drafting of new project proposals, consortium building, and bid preparation.
3. External Representation & Outreach
- Build and nurture partnerships with academic, industrial, and public-sector organizations.
- Organize and manage dissemination activities, scientific visits, promotional campaigns, and group events.
4. Teaching & Mentoring Support
- Deliver limited teaching to Master’s students for the 3 ECTS course “Soft Skills for Applied Computer Scientists”.
- Provide senior technical and scientific guidance to ongoing projects and support the supervision of junior researchers.
