Senior Research Associate in Trypanosome: Lancaster University’s Division of Biomedical and Life Sciences is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Research Associate to contribute to a BBSRC-funded research project investigating the NEDD8 pathway’s role in the differentiation of Trypanosoma brucei. Eligibility/Qualification

  • A PhD in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field.
  • Experience in trypanosome cell biology, quantitative proteomics, or molecular biology is preferred.
  • Competency in cell culture techniques and data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with animal models, specifically in handling mice and conducting infection studies.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Job Description

The successful candidate will engage in the following responsibilities:

  • Collecting and analyzing data from genetic and proteomic assays.
  • Coordinating experiments on the neddylation machinery in T. brucei.
  • Designing and implementing experimental protocols using cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
  • Mapping and classifying regulatory mechanisms in the differentiation process.
  • Writing research findings for publication and conference presentations.
  • Assisting in disseminating project outcomes to key stakeholders.
  • Maintaining ethical and quality standards throughout the study.
