Senior Scientist for the Virology Unit: The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC), a leading non-profit research institution in Cambodia with over 70 years of history, is inviting applications for a Senior Scientist for its Virology Unit. Research Areas:
- Arboviruses: Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya, Japanese Encephalitis
- Respiratory Viruses: Influenza, COVID-19, avian influenza, and others
- Zoonotic & Emerging Pathogens: Coronaviruses, Nipah virus, hantavirus, and similar viral pathogens
- Rabies & Other Viral Pathogens: Rabies, hepatitis, enteroviruses, etc.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Education: Doctoral degree in Virology, Microbiology, or Infectious Diseases (candidates with a pharmacy, medical, or veterinary degree are highly desirable).
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of postdoctoral research experience with significant expertise in virology.
- Skills and Expertise:
- Advanced laboratory techniques in molecular biology, tissue culture, serology, and sequencing (BSL3 experience preferred).
- Leadership in research and proven ability to secure grants and manage funding.
- Fieldwork experience in challenging environments.
- Outstanding English communication skills (French knowledge is a plus).
- Preferred: Experience in resource-limited settings, mentoring students/postdocs, and collaborative/team-based science.

- Data Management: Analyze extensive datasets using cutting-edge computational tools to deliver actionable insights.
- Collaboration & Networking: Build strong national and global partnerships across scientific and public health sectors.
- Mentorship: Train and guide junior scientists, students, and field researchers.
- Field Coordination: Oversee research activities and missions in remote areas while adhering to ethical practices.
- Funding Management: Proactively seek funding opportunities and manage research budgets effectively.
- Dissemination: Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to global scientific communities.
