Eligibility/Qualification

  • Available for full-time research at the University of Johannesburg.
  • Doctoral qualification obtained within the last three years prior to the Fellowship start date in 2025.
  • An academic host secured at the University of Johannesburg.
  • Must not hold full-time salaried employment during the fellowship.
  • International applicants must complete SAQA accreditation for foreign qualifications.

Job Description

The selected Postdoctoral Research Fellows (PDRFs) will focus on conducting independent research aligned with UJ’s strategic goals. Awardees are expected to:

  • Engage in full-time research activities.
  • Undertake a maximum of 12 hours per week as a research assistant.
  • Apply for external funding from institutions like the National Research Foundation and provide proof of application.
