Systems Biology Postdoctoral Fellow: The Institute of Functional Biology and Genomics (IBFG-CSIC) is launching the 2025 Systems Biology Postdoctoral Program. We are seeking highly motivated candidates to join our interdisciplinary research teams in Salamanca, Spain. This program offers cutting-edge training in Systems Biology and academic career development opportunities.

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research Area:

  • Biophysics, Statistical Physics, and Mathematical Biology
  • Systems and Molecular Biology, Protein Post-Translational Modifications (PTMs), and Epigenetics
  • Systems & Computational Biology, Mathematical Models of Evolutionary Processes, and Statistical Properties of Fitness Landscapes

Location: Salamanca, Spain

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Strong track record in relevant research areas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a research group.
  • EU work eligibility.
  • Open to applying for external postdoctoral fellowships with IBFG support.

Research Areas & Specific Requirements:

  • Dr. Alvaro Sanchez: Strong background in biophysics, mathematics, and statistics.
  • Dr. Cristina Vieitez: Expertise in protein biology, PTMs, epigenetics, and omics data analysis; proficiency in R programming.
  • Dr. Juan Diaz-Colunga: Strong quantitative background in mathematics or physics; experience in R/Python; knowledge of mathematical models of population genetics is desirable.
