1. Temporary Faculty – BS&HSS (English)

Essential Qualification:

• Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline.
• First Class in BA and MA from a recognized University/Institution.

Desirable Qualification:

• No specific specialization is prescribed in the advertisement.

2. Temporary Faculty – Mechanical Engineering

Essential Qualification:

• Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline.
• First Class in M.E./M.Tech and B.E./B.Tech.

Desirable Qualification / Preference:

• Preference 1: Manufacturing / Production Engineering
• Preference 2: Thermal Engineering

Job/Position Description- 

National Institute of Technology Mizoram (NIT Mizoram) has invited applications from eligible Indian Nationals for Temporary Faculty positions in the Department of BS&HSS (English) and Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME). The engagement is initially for one semester and may be extended, subject to performance and Institute requirements. Selected candidates will receive a fixed consolidated remuneration of ₹77,000 per month.

The recruitment is intended for candidates with consistently good academic records, commitment to quality teaching, and potential for conducting research.

The selected Temporary Faculty members will be engaged in academic and teaching activities at NIT Mizoram. The Institute is seeking candidates who demonstrate:

• Capability to contribute to the academic activities of the concerned department.
• Teaching and research experience may be considered as part of the candidate’s overall profile.

Duration of Engagement

The Temporary Faculty appointment will initially be for one semester. Based on performance review and the Institute’s decision, the engagement may be extended by another semester, up to a maximum of five semesters, subject to a mandatory break in service as applicable under the relevant Ministry of Education guidelines.

The engagement is temporary, and the selected candidate will have no claim for permanency against the regular post.

Salary / Remuneration

₹77,000 per month (Fixed consolidated remuneration).

This remuneration is specified for both advertised Temporary Faculty positions.

Application Fee

• SC/ST/EWS applicants: ₹200, upon submission of the relevant supporting certificate.
• Women applicants: Fully exempted from the application fee upon submission of the relevant supporting documentation.
• Persons with Disabilities (PwDs): Fully exempted upon submission of the relevant Disability Certificate.

The fee must be paid online only. Payment through Demand Draft, Cheque, Cash or other physical instruments will not be accepted.

Selection Process

Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. The interview will be conducted in hybrid mode at NIT Mizoram. The list of shortlisted candidates will be published on the Institute’s website.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the presentation and interview.
