Eligibility/Qualification
- Candidates must hold a PhD obtained not earlier than 2021. For female applicants, the date can be extended by two years per child (up to a maximum of three children).
- Must hold a research position at an institution located in a MENA country.
- Minimum of five years of engagement in the science system in a MENA or sub-Saharan African country.
- Cannot have an established collaboration with the intended German host.
- Applicants currently in Germany or previous recipients of a TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visit are ineligible.
- Women scientists are especially encouraged to apply.
Job Description
The TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme aims to initiate research collaboration between scientists from the MENA region and their counterparts in Germany. Selected candidates will:
- Undertake a three-month research visit to a German institution.
- Collaborate on mutual research projects leading to longer-term partnerships.
- Benefit from covered travel expenses and subsistence costs during their stay.
