Two Fully Funded PhD Researcher: The Materials Engineering And Nanosensor (MEAN) Laboratory, led by Prof. Evan K. Wujcik at The University of Maine, is offering two fully funded PhD researcher positions in the field of Chemical Engineering. Located in the picturesque town of Orono, ME, our laboratory is a part of the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering (UMaine CBE) and the Advanced Structures & Composites Center (UMaine ASCC). Eligibility/Qualification:
  • A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0/4.0 or a minimum graduate GPA of 3.5/4.0
  • Proficient English communication skills (writing and oral)
  • At least one degree (bachelors or masters) in a field closely related to composites (e.g., chemical engineering, materials science or engineering, polymer science or engineering, physics, chemistry, textile engineering, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering)
  • Exposure to experimental materials or composites research
  • Preferred: Persons from underrepresented groups in STEM; Experimental experience with electrohydrodynamics/polymeric nanofiber production/inorganic materials synthesis |
