Advanced computational chemistry focused on nanophotonics, quantum mechanics, and machine learning-assisted modeling.

Advanced computational chemistry research with a primary focus on nanophotonics, quantum mechanics, and machine learning–assisted modeling and simulations. Secondary preferred areas include nanoscience, nanotechnology, catalysis, and/or sensing.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Minimum Qualifications: A doctorate in computational chemistry or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the time of hire. A strong background in theoretical and computational chemistry is required, along with proficiency in relevant software, operating systems, and programming languages.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated significant contributions in computational chemistry, nanoscience, nanotechnology, catalysis, and/or sensing. A track record of high-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals and experience in Machine Learning is highly preferred.
  • Requirements: The selected candidate must submit documentation verifying the conferral of their qualifying PhD degree or equivalent academic credential. (Note: Additional background screening applies to certain foreign nationals under Florida State Statute 1010.35).

Job Description:

The Postdoctoral Scholar will be responsible for the following:

  • Working collaboratively with the Principal Investigator (Dr. Shengli Zou).
  • Conducting advanced computational chemistry research.
  • Preparing manuscripts and conference presentations.
  • Assisting the Principal Investigator with writing grant reports.
  • Assisting the Principal Investigator with mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
