Eligibility/Qualification

  • Fee Status: Open to both Home and International students.
  • Academic Merit: Candidates must meet UCL’s academic entry requirements and specific departmental criteria.
  • International Cap: A maximum of 15 International students will be accepted due to EPSRC caps.

Residency Requirements

  • UK Nationals: Must meet residency requirements.
  • EU Nationals: Settled or pre-settled status must align with residency criteria.

Job Description

Selected candidates will receive full funding for a duration of up to 4 years, which includes:

  • Tuition fees (Home rate) with a UCL award to cover international fee differences for International students.
  • A maintenance stipend estimated at a minimum of £23,266 per year (subject to increase).
  • Research Training Support Grant (RTSG) to cover additional training costs.

Applicants can apply for a maximum of 5 projects from the project catalogue to be published shortly. A complete application will comprise:

  • Part A: Personal data.
  • Part B: Academic and professional background.
  • Part C: Project-specific questions (up to 5).
  • Part D: References from two referees.
