We are currently seeking a highly motivated University Assistant for a full-time, six-year position at the Institute of Computational Perception. As a part of our dynamic research environment, you will conduct independent research in various fields, collaborate on scientific and industrial projects, publish research findings, teach university-level courses, and assist with educational and administrative tasks.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Doctorate/Ph.D. degree in Informatics, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Physics, or Psychology
- Extensive expertise and professional experience in at least one of the following fields: recommender systems, information retrieval, web/social media mining, natural language processing, multimedia, machine/deep learning, user modeling, human-computer interaction, algorithmic fairness, or transparency
- Strong publication record (relative to academic age)
- Commitment, creativity, and the ability to independently conduct scientific work and pursue publication activities
- Proficiency in English (written and oral) – level C1+
- Proficiency in German (level B1) (willingness to learn/improve German language skills for non-German proficient candidates)
- Ability and willingness to teach university-level courses and supervise students in related fields
- Strong social skills
- Ideally, experience in securing external funding and managing international partnership projects
Job Description: As a University Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting independent research in the fields of recommender systems, information retrieval, web/social media mining, multimedia, machine learning, user modeling, and/or human-computer interaction
- Publishing and disseminating research findings through journals and conferences
- Actively participating in the institute’s fundraising efforts
- Collaborating on scientific and industrial partnership projects
- Independently teaching university-level courses as per the collective agreement
- Assisting with educational and administrative tasks at the institute
- Co-supervising Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. candidates
- Participating in academic administration, such as selection committees for professorship positions
