Research Area
Invertebrate Evolutionary Developmental Biology (EvoDevo) with a focus on mollusks and other aquatic invertebrate taxa.
Location
University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria
Eligibility/Qualification
- Must hold a PhD in Biology or a related discipline.
- Postdoctoral research experience is an advantage, but not mandatory.
- Experience in designing research projects and composing scientific manuscripts.
- Scientific expertise should include molecular approaches to EvoDevo questions, notably qualitative and quantitative gene expression analysis and transcriptomics. Experience in bioinformatics is a plus.
Job Description
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Wanninger, engaging in:
- Developing independent research projects
- Conducting and publishing high-quality research
- Drafting and submitting scientific papers
- Presenting research at international conferences
- Teaching and mentoring students and lab members
- Participating in administrative duties within the department
