Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in biochemistry, (systems) biology, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, or related fields.
  • Interest in cell biology and experience in projects addressing biological research questions are preferred.
  • Basic programming skills are appreciated but not mandatory.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1 Level); good German skills are desirable.

Description:

As a University Assistant Predoctoral, you will collaborate with Ass.-Prof. Karin Ortmayr, focusing on the role of cellular metabolism in cancer cell survival and regrowth. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing cell culture techniques and mass spectrometry-based non-targeted metabolomics.
  • Utilizing CRISPR-Cas9 for genetic perturbations in a high-throughput setting.
  • Conducting computational analysis of phenotypic and metabolomic data.
  • Preparing manuscripts and actively participating in scientific exchanges.
  • Engaging in teaching activities, such as supervising bachelor or master thesis students.
