Research Area

Improvement and testing of process-based crop models focusing on the integration of abiotic factors affecting crop production.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • Degree: Doctoral degree in soil-crop modeling, soil science, agricultural engineering, environmental engineering, hydrology, plant physiology, or a related field.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Understanding of crop responses to various stresses (abiotic and biotic).
  • Knowledge of agricultural simulation models.
  • Experience with programming languages such as FORTRAN, C++, R, or Python.

Job Description

Participants will research and improve crop models, focusing on incorporating abiotic factors (e.g., excessive water, extreme temperature, hail, and wind damage). Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting literature searches.
  • Developing modeling methodologies.
  • Model development and testing.
  • Comprehensive modeling studies.
  • Preparation of research reports and publications.

The mentorship will be provided by VR Reddy, who will guide participants through their research endeavors.
