Virginia Tech Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship: Virginia Tech invites applications for the Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, aiming to enhance diversity and excellence among postdoctoral associates. The program offers up to two years of support with competitive salaries, benefits, and additional funds for training and professional development. Fellows will engage in mentoring, professional development, and pursue research in four distinct tracks: Research Frontiers, Cybersecurity, Innovation, and Science Policy and Research Ethics.

Eligibility/Qualification: The eligible postdoctoral applicants must:
- Be within three years of earning their doctoral degree
- Expect to complete their doctoral degree before the fellowship start
- Competitive applicants for Research Frontiers and Cybersecurity tracks should not be currently enrolled or employed by Virginia Tech
- Individuals affiliated with Virginia Tech can apply to the Innovation and Science Policy and Research Ethics tracks
Job Description: Presidential Postdoctoral Fellows will work collaboratively with mentors to develop a three-page proposal. Proposals will be evaluated based on their potential to advance independent research, enhance the mentor’s research program, and align with university and sponsor priorities. Fellows are encouraged to engage in inclusive research environments, embracing diversity and equity.
How to Apply: Interested candidates can identify potential faculty mentors from the participating faculty list or independently reach out to advisors offering research opportunities. Prospective postdocs must collaborate with mentors to submit a proposal to the Office of Research and Innovation. Faculty interested in participating can fill out the form to be added to the list. Note: Proposals to all tracks, except the Innovation Track, will be reviewed in two cycles each year. The Innovation Track proposals are only reviewed during the Fall cycle each year. The fellowship program requires selected fellows to reside within commuting distance of a Virginia Tech campus location during their two-year tenure.
