Visiting Researcher Positions: The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is offering visiting researcher positions for the Spring semester 2025. These positions are targeted at early-career scholars (PhD or postdoctoral) in economics or social sciences who use quantitative methods. The researchers will gain access to NTNU’s research facilities, including admin data through microdata.no, and will be supervised by Associate Professor Roberto Iacono. The positions are non-funded and intended for a temporary visit lasting from approximately January 15th to June 15th, 2025.
Visiting Researcher Positions with Access to Admin Data
Designation: Visiting Researcher
Research Area: Economics, Social Sciences, Quantitative Methods, Causal Inference
Location: Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway
Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD or postdoctoral scholars in Economics or other Social Sciences.
- Working with quantitative methods.
- Basic knowledge of a Scandinavian language is an advantage (not required).
Job Description:
Visiting researchers will:
- Physically visit NTNU for one semester (January 15th – June 15th, 2025).
- Gain access to NTNU’s research facilities, including admin data through microdata.no.
- Attend weekly department seminars at the Department of Economics.
- Participate in meetings of the Causal Inference Hub at NTNU.
- Be supervised by Associate Professor Roberto Iacono.
- Potentially be provided with desk space (subject to availability).
- Please note that no financial support is provided, and the position cannot be used for Schengen Visa applications.
