Eligibility/Qualification

  • MSc-degree or equivalent in biological, biochemical, life sciences, or pharmaceutical specialization
  • Practical experience in:
  • Cultivation of adherent-growing mammalian cells (e.g., HEK-293)
  • Molecular biology methods for cloning plasmid DNA (PCR, Gibson assembly, restriction ligation)
  • Biochemical and/or cell biological methods in microtiter plate format (96- or 384-well plates)
  • Fluorescence and/or bioluminescence-based methods including FRET and BRET
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Disposition towards scientific qualification (e.g., for a doctorate project in pharmacology)

Description

The position involves scientific services in research, specifically focused on:

  • Designing, cloning, and validating optical G protein biosensors for use in living cells
  • Planning, performing, analyzing, and interpreting pharmacological experiments in microtiter plates
  • Investigating GPCR-dependent conformational changes in heterotrimeric G proteins
  • Studying GPCR-dependent interaction profiles of dissociated G protein subunits
  • Examining GPCR-specific signal transduction

The position is limited to a time period adequate for the completion of a doctoral degree, compliant with § 2, 1 WissZeitVG.
