Yale Postdoctoral Position: The YMSM and Comparative Medicine Department at Yale University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow for a research position. This opportunity is available at the Yale Center for Molecular and Systems Metabolism, focusing on the study of hematopoiesis and metabolic diseases, particularly type 1 diabetes and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, immunology, and biomedical sciences, with a recent PhD and a keen interest in applying single-cell multi-omics and statistical bioinformatics in conjunction with mouse models. Eligibility/Qualification: To be eligible for this Postdoctoral Research Fellow position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with basic molecular biology and immunology techniques, including recombinant DNA techniques, RNA isolation, RT-PCR, Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence microscopy.
- Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and lentiviral transduction, or a willingness to learn.
- Experience with mouse work and a willingness to work with mice.
- Knowledge of NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) and single-cell sequencing technologies, as well as familiarity with diverse biostatistics and data analysis software packages, such as R.
- Successful candidates will assume an increasing trajectory of project responsibilities in preparation for an independent research career, including literature review, data tracking, documentation, analysis, summarization, presentation of experiment results, and manuscript preparation.
- Biosafety Levels 1-3 experience or a willingness to work in these environments is desirable.
