  • Excellent command of English; knowledge of Dutch is preferred but not mandatory

Job Description:

PhD Students in Machine Learning for Combatting Cybercrime

The successful candidates will be responsible for developing new models, methods, and machine learning techniques to combat cybercrime effectively. Research topics include intrusion-detection systems, active learning, neural networks, supervised and unsupervised learning, and generative adversarial networks. The positions offer academic freedom in selecting specific topics within the broader scope of the research. The PhD students will be part of the Stochastics group at CWI and will receive their PhD degrees from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Full-time 4-year PhD positions
  • Gross monthly salary: €2,720 (first year) to €3,484 (fourth year)
  • Initial 18-month contract, extendable based on positive evaluation
  • Holiday allowance of 8% and year-end bonus of 8.33%
