Research Assistant (PostDoc) – Quantum Photonics
- 🌌 Generating Non-Classical States with Quantum Memory (P1): Experimental project modifying atomic quantum memory for generating non-Gaussian states, with potential theoretical exploration.
- 🧠 Controlling Quantum States of Light (P2): Theoretical exploration of collective quantum states of light using engineered reservoirs, particularly focusing on optical fiber systems.
- 📏 Ultra-Precisely Verifying Quantum Devices (P3): Development of novel tools for benchmarking and verification, integrating mathematical rigor with experimental considerations.
- 🔬 Quantum State Engineering in Heterostructures (P4): Investigation of excited states in van der Waals heterostructures for tailored quantum Hamiltonians.
- 🌐 Exploiting High-Dimensional Entanglement (P5): Utilization of high-dimensional entanglement from solid-state sources for quantum networking applications.
- ⚛️ Taming Quantum Fluctuation-Induced Phenomena (P6): Exploration of quantum fluctuation phenomena and their applications in quantum technologies.
- 🛠️ Realizing Holographic Codes on Quantum Devices (P7): Identification and implementation of holographic quantum error-correcting codes for current and near-term quantum devices.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Graduate scientific degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) in physics or related areas
- PhD certificate or equivalent at the starting date
- Previous experience in quantum photonics, quantum technology, and nanotechnology
- Strong interest in innovative approaches and research questions
- Demonstrated achievements evidenced by publications or laboratory experience
- Ability to teach in German and/or English
Job Description:
- Contribute to one of the 17 project proposals under the Berlin Quantum (BQ) Initiative
- Engage in experimental or theoretical research in areas such as quantum memory, quantum state engineering, quantum communication, and quantum sensing
- Collaborate with leading researchers and industry partners
- Fulfill teaching responsibilities
