2D Materials – Postdoctoral Researcher: Join our cutting-edge research team in Prague! We are seeking an experienced and passionate individual with expertise in scanning probe microscopy to work on a project focused on nanoscale characterization of 2D materials with controlled structural disorder. The position involves conducting tip-enhanced Raman and photoluminescence spectroscopy studies and advanced scanning probe microscopy characterization. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in physics, materials science, or a related field (or close to obtaining)
  • Proven advanced experience with scanning probe-based methods
  • Broad portfolio of scanning probe microscopy techniques, tip-enhanced or microRaman and/or photoluminescence spectroscopy, mechanical exfoliation and stacking of 2D materials, electronic transport, clean room experience, optics
  • Good track-record of publishing research articles in respected journals

Job Description:

  • Conduct tip-enhanced Raman and photoluminescence spectroscopy studies
  • Perform advanced scanning probe microscopy characterization, including electrical and mechanical modes
  • Work on mechanically exfoliated 2D materials with engineered defects
  • Collaborate with Free University Berlin and Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf
  • Co-responsibility for the instrument and supervision of younger colleagues
  • Collaborate with Nanocarbon Group teams
  • Devise research plans, design experiments, analyze data, formulate conclusions, and write manuscripts
