Eligibility / Qualification

Applicants should possess:

  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • Strong motivation for research in genomics, developmental biology, and evolutionary biology.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary research team investigating the genetic mechanisms underlying the evolution of specialized forelimbs in the Iberian mole (Talpa occidentalis).

Research responsibilities include:

  • Investigating how genomic changes influence developmental phenotypes during evolution.
  • Studying gene regulation across different tissues and organisms.
  • Utilizing advanced genomic and molecular biology techniques, including:
    • 3D chromosome conformation capture
    • Single-cell sequencing technologies
    • Epigenetic analyses
  • Performing comparative genomic and developmental biology studies.
  • Contributing to collaborative research projects and scientific publications.
