Location: Umeå, Sweden

Eligibility/Qualification: To be appointed under the postdoctoral agreement, the candidate must have completed a doctoral degree in biology, chemistry, biophysics, or a related field, including experience working with plants and photosynthesis measurements using fluorescence. The degree must be obtained no later than the time of the appointment decision. Priority will be given to candidates who completed their doctoral degree no later than three years prior. Candidates with special circumstances may also be eligible.

Job Description: The postdoctoral position is part of a wider research program, financed by SSF and VR, focusing on understanding the molecular mechanisms behind the photosynthetic light reaction and modifying it to enhance growth. The duties include working with Arabidopsis and aspen (Populus), modifying photosynthetic proteins using CRISPR and traditional gene technology. Analysis will be conducted in the lab, phenotyping facility, and field, utilizing advanced techniques for studying photosynthesis, including chlorophyll fluorescence, and growth. Collaboration with technical platforms at UPSC and other project scientists is essential.
