PhD Positions in Dendroecology: Embark on a research journey in dendroecology, growth modeling, and forest ecology! Charles University in Prague invites applications for four fully funded Ph.D. positions in the dynamic working group of Dendroecology. The positions, starting from October 2024, are part of two research projects focusing on the effects of climate change on various forest ecosystems using dendrochronology, wood anatomy, and modeling techniques.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Master’s degree/diploma in a relevant field (ecology, geography, biology, forestry, biostatistics, environmental sciences).
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Advantageous: Previous experience with dendrochronology, wood anatomy, tree growth monitoring, laboratory processing of wood samples, and proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Matlab).
Job Description: The successful candidates will be part of international projects funded by the research excellence programme (“Georisks”) and the Czech Science Foundation (“Quantifying the effects of phenology, growth rate, and growth occurrence for annual wood formation”).
