PhD Position in Molecular Pharmacology: The Groningen Research Institute of Pharmacy (GRIP) at the Faculty of Science and Engineering is offering a fully funded PhD position in the department of molecular pharmacology. The research, funded by a collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim, focuses on studying idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and developing new therapeutic strategies targeting the WNT pathway.

Job Description:

  • Research on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) with a focus on the WNT pathway.
  • Use of advanced disease models including cell culture, lung organoids, and precision-cut lung slices.
  • Collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim researchers.
  • Part of the research project to be conducted in Biberach an der Riß, Germany.
  • Prospective starting date between May 1st, 2024, and August 1st, 2024.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Full-time position (1.0 FTE) for 4 years.
  • Salary ranging from €2,770 to €3,539 gross per month.
  • 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-the-year bonus.
  • Performance evaluation after the first year to determine the extension of the contract.
