PhD Student – IMol Polish Academy: The International Institute of Molecular Mechanisms and Machines (IMol) Polish Academy of Sciences is inviting applications for a Ph.D. student position in Dr. Maciej Cieśla’s group. The research focuses on understanding how RNA metabolism integrates during early steps of stem cell activation, emphasizing splicing regulation when stem cells decide between self-renewal and differentiation.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields (obtained after 2020).
  • Well-structured knowledge in cell biology and biochemistry.
  • Previous hands-on training in molecular biology, cell biology, or biochemistry lab.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Interest in developing independent lines of research.
  • Good communication skills.

Job Description:

  • Plan and perform experiments related to stem cell activation and splicing regulation.
  • Record experimental details and conduct data analysis, including bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing.
  • Present results at internal and external meetings/conferences.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
  • Actively participate in the ongoing research in the lab.
