Research Associate (Postdoc): The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at Universität Hamburg is seeking a dedicated Research Associate (Postdoc) for the Department of Economics. The position offers a unique opportunity for a junior researcher specializing in applied microeconomics, particularly in industrial or organizational economics. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and research activities, engaging in independent research and academic development.

Designation: Research Associate (Postdoc)

Research Area: Applied Microeconomics (Preferably in Industrial or Organizational Economics)

Location: Von-Melle-Park 5, 20146 Hamburg

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • University degree in a relevant subject plus doctorate.
  • PhD in economics, mathematics, or a related field (desirable).
  • Experience in experimental and behavioral economics and microeconometrics.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Python, C++, JavaScript, oTree, Prolific).
  • Excellent English skills required; good command of German advantageous.

Job Description: The Research Associate will be responsible for teaching and conducting research in the Department of Economics. Duties include delivering 5 hours of courses per semester, supervising theses, and engaging in independent academic work. The position offers opportunities for collaboration within a research-oriented team and dynamic department.
