Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Molecular/Cellular/Medical Biology or Biochemistry
- At least one first authorship
- Experience in molecular and cell biological techniques (e.g., qPCR, FACS, Western blots, histology)
- Experience working with mouse models
- Developed skills in R programming and large dataset analysis are a plus
- Enthusiastic, ambitious, and organized
- Good collaborative, communication, and networking skills
Job Description: The postdoc will contribute to defining the contributions of genetics, gut microbiome, and environmental factors to the risk of developing age-related liver and cardiometabolic diseases. The focus is on identifying liver/gut-derived metabolites involved in disease development, particularly those affecting nutrient sensing, cellular senescence, and inflammageing. The project aims to determine the contributions of specific bile acids and their metabolites in maintaining intestinal barrier function, a critical aspect that deteriorates during ageing and contributes to inflammageing. The work will involve (partly humanized) mouse models, cellular systems, and advanced analytical/bioinformatics approaches.
