Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in physics, materials science, or a related field (or close to obtaining)
- Proven advanced experience with scanning probe-based methods
- Broad portfolio of scanning probe microscopy techniques, tip-enhanced or microRaman and/or photoluminescence spectroscopy, mechanical exfoliation and stacking of 2D materials, electronic transport, clean room experience, optics
- Good track-record of publishing research articles in respected journals
Job Description:
- Conduct tip-enhanced Raman and photoluminescence spectroscopy studies
- Perform advanced scanning probe microscopy characterization, including electrical and mechanical modes
- Work on mechanically exfoliated 2D materials with engineered defects
- Collaborate with Free University Berlin and Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf
- Co-responsibility for the instrument and supervision of younger colleagues
- Collaborate with Nanocarbon Group teams
- Devise research plans, design experiments, analyze data, formulate conclusions, and write manuscripts
