Research Area
- Interdisciplinary Image Studies: The central focus is on “Images as Models or Paradigms” in scientific, social, and aesthetic contexts.
- Eligible Fields: Open to all academic disciplines (Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences) whose research explores the evidential, didactic, and symbolic functions of images, imaging techniques, visual stereotypes/ideals, or artistic canons.
Location
- Basel, Switzerland (Fellows are required to be in residence at eikones in Basel and participate in select center events)
Eligibility & Qualification
- Education: Must hold a completed doctoral degree (PhD).
- Publication Track Record: Must have published either:
- One monograph (e.g., a published dissertation), OR
- At least three articles in peer-reviewed journals or edited volumes.
- Profile: Open to both junior and senior researchers; preference will be given to outstanding young scholars with innovative methodological approaches.
- Language: Applications and research may be conducted/submitted in either English or German.
