Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Master’s degree (or equivalent university degree) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Technical Background: Demonstrated experience in computational modeling of physical phenomena and numerical methods.
  • Programming Skills: Familiarity with high-level languages (Python, MATLAB) and low-level languages (C++, Fortran).
  • Language Proficiency: Excellent command of written and spoken English (C1 level).
  • Soft Skills & Motivation: Research-oriented mindset, collaborative attitude for interdisciplinary and industrial teamwork, and interest in coaching students / contributing to academic teaching (approx. 10%–15% of working time).

Scholarship & Employment Description

  • Contract & Duration: 4-year full-time contract under the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten).
  • Remuneration:
    • Monthly gross salary starting at €3,204 in year 1 and rising to €4,051 in year 4 (Scale P).
    • 8% holiday allowance and an 8.3% year-end bonus annually.
