Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in ecology, microbiology, or a closely related field
- Strong interest in soil microbial ecology
- Previous experience in molecular lab work
- Proficiency in writing and publishing peer-reviewed scientific papers
- Good numerical and statistical skills
- Completed doctorate no more than three years ago
Job Description: The post-doctoral researcher will focus on the molecular analysis of soil microbial community composition and the expression of functional genes. The project aims to understand the relationships between microclimate and soil microbial communities across diverse Swedish forest types. Soil samples will be collected from a network of microclimate loggers in temperate and boreal forests, and lab analyses will be performed at SLU’s Department of Forest Mycology and Plant Pathology in Uppsala. The position is fully funded for two years and involves collaboration with Prof. Paul Kardol and Dr. Caroline Greiser.
