Postdoctoral Fellow: The College of Agriculture at Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN is seeking applications for a 24-month postdoctoral fellowship funded by the National Science Foundation for Dr. Ali Taheri. The project focuses on designing CRISPR-based biosensors for rapid pathogenic agent detection, with applications in food safety and beyond.

Eligibility/Qualification: The ideal candidate should hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field with expertise in bio-nanotechnology and a strong background in molecular interactions, chemical bonding, and nucleotide-based detection systems. Experience with microfabrication, lab-on-a-chip technologies, electrochemistry, and graphene materials is preferred. Strong communication skills, prior mentoring experience, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in STEM are desired.

Job Description: The successful candidate will be involved in designing specific gRNAs for pathogenic bacteria, fabricating and validating CRISPR-based sensors on graphene materials, studying molecular interactions, and exploring broader applications in diagnostic biosensors. Responsibilities include mentoring students, participating in outreach activities, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to publications and presentations.
