Study Area: Quantum Batteries with Novel 2D Materials

Scholarship Description: This doctoral studentship seeks to investigate quantum batteries, which utilize the principles of quantum mechanics to store and access energy more efficiently than traditional chemical batteries. The project will focus on experimental research into quantum batteries using cutting-edge 2D materials, including germanene, silicene, SiGe heterostructures, and Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs).

Eligibility: Applicants should hold, or be about to obtain, a First or Upper Second Class UK Honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant area of science or technology. Lower Second Class degree holders may be considered with a Master’s degree or significant non-academic experience. Proficiency in English is required for non-native speakers.
