Research Associate (Postdoc) in 6G: The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) is seeking highly motivated PhD candidates for a Research Associate position in antenna design within its Signal Processing and Communications (SIGCOM) research group. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team led by Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas and collaborate on research focused on Physical Layer design and optimization for 6G Non-terrestrial Networks (NTN).

Research Area: Antenna design, Physical Layer design and optimization for 6G Non-terrestrial Networks (NTN)

Location: Kirchberg, Luxembourg

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Experience in PHY, precoding, and multiuser systems
  • Familiarity with 3GPP New Radio PHY specifications
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, GNURadio/C/C++
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English

Job Description: The Research Associate will work closely with Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas and Dr. Thang X. Vu on the Physical Layer design and optimization for 6G Non-terrestrial Networks. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a full-stack simulation platform for multiuser precoding in NTN
  • Simulation of precoding and frequency management in NTN systems
  • Collaboration with SES Satellites on 3GPP precoding in satellite systems
  • Implementation and testing of algorithms on SDR environments
  • Dissemination of results through scientific publications
  • Coordinating research projects and assisting in PhD student supervision
