Postdoctoral Fellow| Systems Biology: The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB) in Martinsried, Munich is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow (f/m/d) to join the Department of Machine Learning and Systems Biology. This department is led by Dr. Karsten Borgwardt and focuses on developing and applying novel machine learning algorithms to detect patterns and statistical dependencies in large datasets from biology and medicine.

Eligibility/Qualification: The successful applicant will hold a Ph.D. in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, bioinformatics, or related fields. The applicant should have a strong interest and prior experience in developing new machine learning methods and/or applying machine learning algorithms for solving problems in the life sciences. Written and oral command of English is essential.
Job Description: Scientists in the Department of Machine Learning and Systems Biology develop and apply novel machine learning algorithms to detect patterns and statistical dependencies in large datasets from biology and medicine. Machine learning on graphs, machine learning in medicine, and machine learning in protein research are current and future foci of the department. The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry provides an outstanding scientific environment and is part of a strong network of research institutions in the southwest of Munich. Payment will be according to qualifications and in accordance with TVöD (German public service tariff scale). The initial appointment will be for 2 years with a possible extension.
