Eligibility/Qualification

  • MSc degree in Bio-Engineering, Geography, Biology, Environmental Science, Computational Biology, or related fields
  • Strong affinity with remote sensing technologies and big data
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork in harsh conditions
  • Proficiency in French for fieldwork and English for scientific communication

Job Description

The selected candidate will:

  • Manage and coordinate data collection in multiple sites in the DRC
  • Collect data using a combination of field and drone-based inventory
  • Develop innovative modeling approaches to study forest age from drone acquisitions
  • Coordinate with project partners (Ghent University, UCLouvain, NASA, ERAIFT)
  • Ensure collaboration with related projects (Canopi project, CoForFunc project)
