Postdoctoral Researcher: On-Chip models: The μOrgano Lab at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Tübingen and at the NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) to focus on the innervation of Adipose-tissue-on-Chip models. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative effort between academia and industry, particularly with Novo Nordisk, to pioneer advanced in vitro models for cardiometabolic diseases.

Job Description: The selected candidate will be involved in designing, fabricating, and characterizing tailored microfluidic platforms, isolating, culturing, and characterizing adipose tissue-associated cells, planning, conducting, and analyzing assays using Organ-on-Chip models, evaluating cell phenotypes and function on chip including innervating neuron’s activity and immunometabolic function, and presenting and publishing research results.
Candidate Profile: Qualified candidates should possess a completed PhD in natural sciences or engineering, comprehensive practical experience in (primary, stem cell) cell culture, microfluidics, and microscopy, in-depth knowledge either with a focus on adipose tissue biology or innervation models, experience with Organ-on-chip models is desirable, willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research activities, very good knowledge of English, and a structured, independent way of working.
