Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. in biomedical sciences, biomedical engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Strong skillsets in cell and tissue engineering.
  • Strong training background in biomedical engineering, biomaterials, bioprinting, immunoengineering, and cell biology.
  • Experience in microfabrication, 3D printing/bioprinting, biomaterials fabrication, and host-microbiome interactions are particularly preferred.
  • At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal on topics related to bioprinting.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, able to work independently and effectively with team members.

Job Description:

The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine seeks a talented Postdoctoral Associate to join the Jalili and Robson Labs in Farmington, CT. This role involves the creative utilization of 3D bioprinting to replicate both healthy and diseased human organs using patient-derived organoids and cell lines. The bioprinting work will integrate with organ-on-chip platforms to advance functional organ-level tissues. Responsibilities include:

  • Spearheading projects applying bioprinting, microfabrication, Organ on Chip development, organoid culture, microbiome sequencing, and single-cell transcriptomics.
  • Collaborating with professionals in bioengineering, biology, immunology, microbiology, and clinical research.
  • Engaging in independent and collaborative research projects.
  • Exploring and fostering collaborations within and beyond the Jackson Laboratory, University of Connecticut, and UConn Health.
